From the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Fake looks at fake money, fake teachers and fake assets. How lies are making the poor and middle class poorer. I found the book quite overly dramatic a lot of the time, but also found it eye opening and refreshing to see a different perspective on the financial world as a lot of the writing in here does go against the grain of the traditional personal finance books.

The No-Regrets Guide to Retirement – Patricia Howard
I really enjoyed this book as it talked about the optimism that you should be approaching retirement and how it really can be the best part of your life. It also focuses on how critical it is to have your finances in order once you reach this stage. The advice provided is simple yet effective and I believe everyone in Australia would be able to adopt at least a few of the recommendations put forward in this book.

This book talks in depth about the issues with Banking in Australia and what was unconvered during the 2017-18 Banking Royal Commission, as well as the steps that lead up to it. It then also talks about the importance of a good financial advisor, and provides basic financial knowledge to give you the power to invest for your own future.

Simple Path to Wealth – JL Collins
This is a great book written specifically for people in the FIRE community from one of the pioneers of the FIRE movement. Although it is US specific, a lot of the principles are universal and still relevant to people in Australia.

I wrote a review of this fantastic book located HERE. This book provides a great insight on how being frugal does not mean necessarily sacrificing in life. That you can improve the value of your life and reduce costs as well. It is really helpful to add some mindfullness and perspective to your life, and provides dozens of tips on how you can improve your life.
The book is not FIRE related in any way, but given the information included and lessons to be learnt, it really is invaluable to have as part of your collection.
